Georgian to Latin transliteration
Paste Georgian text and get its Latin spelling instantly. "URL alias" mode prepares text for a custom linkz.ge alias (lowercase Latin letters, digits and hyphens, up to 32 characters); "Readable text" mode keeps spaces, punctuation and capitals. The scheme is a simple informal romanization, not an official standard.

This is a simple informal scheme, not a standard. The Georgian national romanization system and ISO 9984 exist, and some letters are written differently in them. For passports and other official documents, use the spelling printed on the document.

Default scheme. For ყ you can choose q or k, for ფ you can choose f. Russian letters are converted too (ж → zh, щ → shch, ю → yu, я → ya); Latin letters and digits stay as they are. Archaic Georgian scripts (Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri) are not supported.
What you type is processed in your browser only and is not sent to linkz.ge servers.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the official romanization?
No. It is a simple informal scheme for writing Georgian in Latin letters (for example შ → sh, ჩ → ch, ხ → kh). Official systems exist: the Georgian national romanization system and ISO 9984, and some letters are written differently in them. For passports, visas and other official documents, use the spelling printed on the document itself.
Why convert Georgian text to Latin letters?
A custom alias on linkz.ge can only contain Latin letters, digits, underscore (_) and hyphen (-), and must be 3 to 32 characters long, so a Georgian word has to be written in Latin first, for example გაყიდვა → gayidva. The Latin spelling is also handy for names, forms and other places where Georgian letters are not supported.
Why is ყ written as y and ფ as p?
In everyday writing there is no single scheme: ყ is written with y, q or k, and ფ with p or f. The defaults here are ყ → y and ფ → p (გაყიდვა → gayidva). You can pick another option under "Letter options".
