Links for Instagram stories and posts
Where links work on Instagram: the story link sticker, the profile link and posts. Why a short custom link helps and how to tell which placement worked.
A URL typed into an Instagram post caption is not clickable. Your clickable spots are the story link sticker and the profile link.
Story link sticker
Create a short link on linkz.ge, open the story editor, choose the link sticker and paste it. A readable alias such as linkz.ge/sale tells people where they are going. Instagram changes its interface from time to time, so button names may differ.
Profile and posts
Put a Link in Bio page in your profile. In captions write a short alias that is easy to type by hand.
Track each placement
Create one link per placement, for example linkz.ge/sale-story, linkz.ge/sale-bio and linkz.ge/sale-post, all pointing to the same page. Analytics then show clicks, countries and devices for each one, and a campaign can group them. For your own site add UTM tags with the UTM link builder.
