QR code for a menu or business card: create and print
How to create a QR code for a menu or business card on linkz.ge, print it correctly and change where it points without reprinting.
A QR code takes people straight to the right page: a menu, a catalogue, your contacts. On linkz.ge the QR is built on a short link, and you can change that link destination at any time.
Why a QR on a short link
If the QR holds the menu file address directly and the file moves, the printed code is useless. With a short link the code stays the same: upload the new menu, edit the link destination, and the printed QR opens the new page. If you only need a one-off QR and will never change the address, the free QR code generator works without an account, but the address is written into the code itself, so a printed code cannot be redirected later.
Step by step
- Put the menu where it opens by link (a PDF, shared file or page on your site) and loads fast on a phone.
- Create a free account and make a link to it with an alias such as
linkz.ge/menu-cafe. - Open "Advanced options" and switch off "Ads and earnings on this link". It is on by default and visitors would see an ad page first, which guests do not need.
- Click the QR icon in your link list, pick a color and a size, and download the PNG.
- Test it with two different phones before printing.
Business cards
Put one page behind the QR, such as a Link in Bio page. The Link in Bio editor has no QR button, so make a short link whose destination is https://linkz.ge/@yourname, switch off "Ads and earnings on this link" and print that link's QR. A linkz.ge QR holds a link only; for vCard or Wi-Fi codes use the free QR code generator.
Printing rules
- Dark code on a light background; the generator background is white and you choose the code color. Avoid light colors; the background cannot be changed.
- Print no smaller than about 2 × 2 cm; 4-5 cm suits a table card. The generator exports PNG up to 520 × 520 px, so a large poster may blur: test before printing.
- Leave a white margin and print a test copy first.
Counting scans
A scan counts as an ordinary click and cannot be told apart from other clicks. Create a separate link for each placement, for example linkz.ge/menu-table and linkz.ge/menu-door, and compare their stats. See QR codes.
