Custom short link with your own name — free guide

A long link full of odd characters looks untidy and people trust it less. A short link with your own name — for example linkz.ge/gayidva — fixes both problems: it is short, readable and easy to remember.

What a custom alias is

When you shorten a link, linkz.ge generates a random 6-character code, such as linkz.ge/k3Xp9a. A custom alias is a code you choose yourself: linkz.ge/menu or linkz.ge/gayidva. It works on every plan.

How to create it

1. Create a free account. Aliases need a login; a link created anonymously always gets a random code.
2. Open your dashboard and paste the long URL.
3. Click "Advanced options" and fill in the "Custom alias" field — only the last part, for example gayidva.
4. Click "Shorten".

Allowed characters

• 3 to 32 characters; the alias is not case-sensitive, so Menu and menu are the same link;
• Latin letters, digits, underscore and hyphen. Georgian letters and spaces are not allowed, so write Georgian words in Latin letters (the free Georgian transliteration tool can do it for you);
• a few words are reserved because they belong to site pages (for example pricing, about, features).

Edit the destination later

The code stays the same, but the page it points to can be changed at any time in the link editor. Everything you already shared or printed, including a QR code, starts opening the new page.

What you can measure

Every link shows clicks, countries and devices. Paid plans add browser, operating system, language, referrer and CSV export. Free plans show the last 30 days of statistics, paid plans the last 365 days. Bots are excluded. See analytics. To tag links from different channels, build the parameters with the free UTM link builder.
